Samoeng district is famous in Thailand for its strawberry fields, you can visit these fields and take your time picking your own strawberries while enjoying the surrounding mountains. Strawberry picking season in Chiang Mai is from November to March, which is our winter season. Here are a few strawberry fields that you can visit:
1. Wong Wan Strawberry Field
One of the largest strawberry farms in Chiang Mai, Wong Wan Strawberry Field prides themselves as an organic farm. Here you can walk along the plants and pick your own strawberries for a fee. You can also take a meal at their restauant which offers a menu with strawberries incorporated throughout all the dishes. If you are interested in growing some strawberries of your own, they also sell young strawberry plants. They also sell OTOP products, "One Tambon* One Product" - (*Tambon means 'sub-district'), a concept that helps promote local economy by having each Tambon offer a local unique product of their sub-district. You can support the local villagers by purchasing these products.
The field is open all year round so you can visit anytime you want.

2. Rai Pai See Tong Strawberry Field
(Golden Bamboo Strawberry Field)
10 minutes away from the Wong Wan Strawberry lies the Rai Pai See Tong. You can pick your strawberries here and enjoy some of their strawberry products including sweets and drinks. You can also stay the night here in a farmer-style cottage.
The field is opened only from November until April.

3. Rai NaPa - Phu Pha
Another choice for strawberry picking, Rai NaPa - Phupha offers you an amazing view surrounded by the mountains of Chiang Mai. You can pick strawberries, have a meal in one of the huts, or ride in ATV cars to view the strawberry fields.

4. Doi Nok Strawberry Fields
Doi Nok Strawberry Field is located within Doi Nok Resort in the valley of Doi Suthep-Pui mountains. Aside from picking strawberries, you can feed sheep that are raised in the farm. The best season to visit is from January to the beginning of March.
