Places you can visit from Our Hotel

Our hotel is located along the Hongdong-Samerng Road on Doi Suthep-Pui. There are many tourist attractions you can visit during your stay with us. Here are some attractions that we recommend our guests to visit.

 

Huay Phak Phai Royal Development Center (Royal Rose Garden)

This rose garden is part of the royal rural development project that aims to improve the quality of life of the local villagers. The project is a source of income for three local villages with more than 300 families and 1,700 people. There are more than 200 species of roses in the garden and other local plants are grown here as well. The area is around 470 acres, so you can visit for the whole day.


The rose garden has a cafe/restaurant where you can enjoy your meal in the gardens. They also offer a selection of tea you can drink while taking in the English-style rose gardens. There is also a small area that sells local products from other royal projects such as Avocado soap, shampoo and conditioner, tea, coffee, and many other.

Samoeng Rice Research Center

Samoeng Rice Research Center is the research and development facilities of many rice species such as barley, millet, and wheat. They research rice production technology, manage rice collection, and inspect rice production. They also offer educational service for visitors. However, the highlight is the view, it is a popular spot for tourists to take beautiful photos of the rice field.


The best time to visit is from February until mid-March. Seeds are planted in January, the field will be green by February, and then turn yellow from end of February til mid-March. The golden fields are what attract many photographers to come visit this research center.

The Royal Agricultural Station Pang Da

Another royal project by King Bhumibol Adulyadej that research on local and foreign plants that can be used to help the local community. Here you can learn about the native plants of Chiang Mai and how research at this station provided for the livelihood of the local community.


You can visit their many green houses and enjoy the local cuisine made from the products from the farm.

Samoeng Forest Viewpoint

Located in the middle of Khun Khan National Park, the Samoeng Forest Viewpoint offers you a beautiful view at the top of the forest. In winter, you can see a sea of fog atop these mountains, and it is a popular spot to view the sunrise and sunset.

Mae Saap Cave

Mae Saap Cave is a natural mid-sized cave with two levels in the Samoeng district, Chiang Mai. Famous for its colorful stone formation that lead to its name of "rainbow cave", the cave is a spot for those who want to explore and have a little bit of an adventure.


Inside the cave is quite dark and there is several area that needs climbing so it is best that you bring a flashlight and wear suitable footware for cave exploration. The cave is not very big and you can spend at least an hour or two there.

Mon Jam

Mon Jam is an area overlooking the mountains of Chiang Mai, they are famous for its panoramic view and beautiful seasonal flower gardens. Here you can take a stroll among the flower field and walk on the skywalk to take in the misty mountain view. This place is perfect all year round and you can enjoy different flowers in different seasons. The best season to visit is winter from October to February as you can view the fog covering the mountains.


There is a skywalk platform where you can stroll along and take in the 360 degree view of the valley.

Khun Khao National Park

Khun Khao National Park has an area of 240 square kilometers covering the areas of Samoeng Forest (including the viewpoint mentioned earlier) and Mae-Chaem Forest. You can find several ecosystems such as mountain forest and lowland rainforest here. The temperature here is quite nice with the lowest at 18 degree Celcius and highest at 28 degree Celcius (average of 23 all year round).


The park provide a hiking trail for nature study that pass through a timber forest, mixed forest, arid evergreen forest, many streams and waterfalls, cliffs, and finishes at the Hot Springs. Average time of hiking is around 1 - 1.30 hours.

Royal Park Rajapruek

Established to commemorate the 60th Annivesary of King Bhumipol's reign and His Majesty's 80th birthday, the Royal Park Rajapruek is a agricultural tourist attraction with an educational center where visitors can study the flora and fauna around Chiang Mai and its culture. The attraction here are the beautiful flower gardens of many species and the Kham Luang Hall, built in Lanna style.

Op Khan National Park

Op Khan National Park, another park in the Hangdong area, this park offers many natural streams such as Mae Khan stream, Mae Wang stream, and so on. These streams lead to many beautiful waterfalls you can visit there. You can also walk further to the cliffs and enjoy the scenic view of the mountains.


At Op Khan National Park, you can enjoy quite a few activities, they offer a hiking trail for nature study (estimated 800 metres), rafting on the streams, and cave exploration. Certain locations and routes required guides, so you should discuss with the park before venturing out on your own.


The best seasons to visit is end of the rainy season and all through winter (October - February)

Baan Om Long - Chrysanthemum Field

Baan Om Long is a local village in Samoeng district, Chiang Mai, that produces local chrysanthemum products. Here you can visit their various fields to stroll along the flowers and smell their relaxing aroma. The flowers bloom from the end of October until mid-December every year, though the best time is in November. The best time to visit is from 7.00 - 10.00 or 16.00 - 17.00 to avoid the strong sunlight.


There are many fields in the area but the main field "Suan Nai Pon" has an entrace fee of 40 Baht and inside you can purchase some local Chrysanthemum products such as Chrysanthemum tea, dried Chrysanthemum flowers, and some local foodstuff from the local village.
